Your Weekly Sports Mash Up

We're going to start off differently than normal here, by going with ITS news of the week and then Ohio Sports.

ITS: Earlier this week Along The Olentangy (suspiciously close name if I do say so myself) was named the Ohio State blog for SB Nation. So that could mean a long while before we ever have a chance of getting on that platform. Also, we are still looking for a basketball writer, and time is running out as the season approaches, so please send us an email at insidetheshoe2009@hotmail.com or leave a comment. Anyway, on to college football. As you know, this marks the beginning week of College Football, which means it's Marshall week. We will have a schedule to follow with our game weeks, so let's go over as to how it will look.




Monday: ITS Top 25 Poll comes out every Monday excluding the very first one, so tommorow we'll try and put...SOMETHING up. For tomorrow we will have the writer's game picks.

Bengals: The Bengals faced the Bills last night, with the first team looking quick, and powerful. So many weapons were used, and it probably would have ended in a win, but the Bills 2nd and third teamers got the job done, putting the Bengals at 2-2. Cincy will look to regroup before the regular season against Super Bowl team Indianapolis Colts. That game will be played Thursday at 7 EST. For all things in the Jungle, go to Cincy Jungle.

Reds: The Redlegs dropped a game to the Cubs last night 3-2, but still maintain a 4 game lead ahead of the Cardinals after they lost to the Nationals 14-5. This is the deepest run I've seen from the Reds in a long time, but the schedule does help. I'm worried about this being a deep playoff team, simply because they lost the series to the Giants and that was after the sweep to the Cardinals. On a happier note, it's been reported that Aroldis Chapman, the Cuban, clocked a 105 mph fastball during a scout session. Edison Volquez has lost his spot in the pitching rotation, which mean someone is either coming back in (Leake) or, they are bringing up Chapman already. For all things Reds, go to Red Reporter.

Cavs: Danny Ferry was fired from the Cleveland Cavaliers during the recruit Lebron process. This is old news, but he is now headed to the San Antonio Spurs. For all you're Cavs news head over to Fear The Sword.
