National CFB Games This Weekend

It's time to bring back the predictions, the hype, and the eventual glory for one team in college football. That road begins this weekend when the ball is kicked off the tee, and helmets collide in a bruising, powerful way. Let's begin!

Current Season Record: 0-0
Last Week's Record: 0-0

Minnesota Golden Gophers at USC Trojans, 3:30 PM EST, ABC/ESPN2
The Golden Gophers have a new head coach in Jerry Kill, and their offensive weapon at QB is MarQueis Gray. They will have to attack fast and hard if they have any hope against Barclay and the Trojans though, as USC has won 13 straight openers and 11 straight games against Big Ten opponents.
Prediction: USC wins 35-14

#1 Oregon Ducks vs. #6 LSU Tigers*, 8:00 PM EST, ABC
The Oregon Ducks and the LSU Tigers open up their seasons on a neutral location, and Chip Kelly and Les Miles hope their teams can come out on top with a victory. Whoever wins will surely be thrust high in the polls, and be one of few favorites to go to and perhaps win the National Championship. This looks to be a heck of a game, but I have to give the edge to Oregon, without Jordan Jefferson, and Oregon having all it's firepower, this might be a tough game for Miles and the Tigers.
Prediction: #1 Oregon wins 31-17

#10 Boise State Broncos vs. #21 Georgia Bulldogs, 8:00 PM EST, ESPN
The Broncos and Bulldogs face off at another neutral location, as Boise State tries to prove they are a legitimate title threat, while Mark Richt and the Dawgs hope to show they are back to national prominence. The quarterbacks in this game are very good with the arms of Kellen Moore and Aaron Murray. This is going to come down to who can stop who, and I'm not sure if I'm confident enough to go with Georgia in this situation, as Chris Peterson knows how to prepare his team for games like this.
Prediction: Boise State wins 24-14
