Good morning fellow Buckeye's and welcome to your Tuesday Buckeye Bits.
Super Bowl!!- This past weekend was a sad one as it marked the final football being played until the spring game in April. The Super Bowl lived up to the hype as the game in Indianapolis turned into a thriller at the end. Watching Tom Brady and company lose was pretty satisfying to me. As a Browns fan, I must use the misery of other's as fuel to make it through a football season. Mmmmm, that misery tasted good. I guess we can't expect anything more from a guy who couldn't beat out Drew Henson while in college.
Foot meet your friend Mouth- After the game, his billionaire girlfriend Gisele Bundchen tried to take some heat off her beau as she claimed it was Tom's receivers that let him down all night. Umm, Gisele honey, I don't think that was the right play. If anything that will intensify the heat on your boy toy. People in Boston aren't interested in your "professional" opinion about football. They would've been happy to bitch and moan about the Welker drop but you just threw your family's hat in the ring. I will just sit back and laugh at what becomes of this story in the coming days.
Recrutegate- I could go on and on about the Super Bowl, but this is a Buckeye blog so lets get back to business. By now, all of you have read about the whining coming out of East Lansing and Madison over Urban Meyer and his recruiting tactics. I was ready for war when these statements were made but have come around a little bit on the issue. The days of Tressel and his "high standards" and "ethics" are long gone. Urban is a hired mercenary that was brought here to win games.
He saved our dreadful 2012 recruiting class in less than 2 months but some feelings were hurt because of it. My boy Brian McPeek over at the theclevelandfan.com had some great insight into this story that enabled me to take off the war paint for awhile. It is a Cleveland site so if you aren't interested in the Tribe and Cavs, skip down to the bottom and take a look.
Hoops- I am not the biggest college basketball fan out there. Don't get me wrong, I love the OSU team and watch as often as possible but Basketball wasn't my first love growing up. That is why I love this feature by the Dispatch. It gives me everything I need to know for the coming week in OSU hoops. I'm sure this isn't that big of a secret to OSU nation but I thought it was worth a shout out.
March is getting closer and it will be important for the guys to hone their game in anticipation of the madness. That's all I've got today folks. Keep ITS in your daily "blog rotation" as we try to bring you the most up to date and interesting info on your Buckeye's.
