The BCS Era Is Soon To Be Finished

Looks like it's all over
According to Stewart Mandel, Bill Hancock gave this exciting quote on the current BCS format: "I can officially say that the status quo is off the table."

While this doesn't guarantee that we're heading to a straight-up four-team playoff, we're still heading in the right direction to at least a plus-one format.

Now, with this news breaking out across the college landscape, many commissioners and higher-up executives of the college football world are saying that by the 2014 regular season, the teams might be playing for their spot in a college football playoff. Hell yes.

The BCS was put in place in 1998, but now it seems it's preparing for its final moments as the main system in determining a national champion.
