SI Article Shows 9 Players To Add To TatFive, Little Else

Not deep enough, obviously
The hype around the SI investigative report against and on Jim Tressel was built up to the point where it was getting monstrous, and (many people believed) is the reason for Tressel's resignation. That turned out to be very, very wrong. When the article came out last night at around 8 PM eastern time, people flocked to the site to see what all the fuss was about, and see how dirty the program really is.

What we all found was...well, nothing. The only big deal would be the fact that 9 other players were involved with the Tattoo guy, Rife. Those players were: defensive back C.J. Barnett, linebacker Dorian Bell, running back Jaamal Berry, running back Bo DeLande, defensive back Zach Domicone, linebacker Storm Klein, linebacker Etienne Sabino, defensive tackle John Simon and defensive end Nathan Williams.

It doesn't help Sports Illustrated's cause when more than half the article that was written, didn't even pertain to the fact of Tressel in his OSU era. Most of it was during his time at Youngstown State. Really? I mean, give me a break. The fact that they say they've "dug up" some pretty serious stuff is just looking plain stupid right now.

The Big Ten Goes Down. Hard.

After such a hot start to the Big Ten bowl season, it finally lost the gas to keep going. Iowa and Illinois provided a 2-0 start, giving much hope to Big Ten fans across the nation for another winning bowl season. Last year, the B1G was able to finish 4-3. While the record may not stand out, it was still one of the better years that the Big Ten has had. Let's see what went down, and will go down in infamy, on 1/1/11.

Texas Tech: 45, Northwestern: 38: Moves Big Ten to 2-1.
The Wildcats rallied to get within a touchdown twice in the fourth quarter and were driving for a tie or win when the Red Raiders intercepted a heave on the final play, preserving a 45-38 victory and allowing Tuberville to joke about his risky move. Northwestern (7-6) lost its eighth straight bowl game, extending a drought that dates to 1949. Coming close after being down by 22 points wasn't much solace because the Wildcats were close the last two post seasons, dropping both in overtime.
The consolation prize is coach Pat Fitzgerald is now counting on the guys who've endured three straight crushing bowl losses to come out hungry as seniors next fall. He challenged them with a fiery opening statement to his postgame news conference that's certain to be replayed all offseason.

Mississippi State: 52, Michigan: 14: Moves Big Ten to 2-2
Chris Relf accounted for four touchdowns, Vick Ballard ran for three scores and coach Dan Mullen's 21st-ranked Bulldogs routed Rich Rodriguez's Wolverines 52-14 on Saturday.
The 38-point drubbing was the worst bowl loss in Michigan's storied history and might have sealed Rodriguez's future. His three-year tenure has been tainted by consecutive losing seasons, NCAA sanctions and late-season slides.
Rodriguez said all the speculation about his job was "the elephant in the room" during meetings and practices but insisted his team never "cheated the University of Michigan a day of work."

Some more bad news.

Lebron James is not the only one to go to Miami today. Seantrel Henderon is as well. Although he said himself that Ohio State was a close second, once again the Buckeyes are losers...this was forseen, but still hurts, and only adds pain to Ohio after losing He Who Shan't Be Named. If you're to lazy to hit the link, I understand so here you go:

"Seantrel Henderson, a prized offensive lineman considered by most analysts to be the nation’s top high school football recruit, and his father, Sean, said on Friday afternoon that he would attend the University of Miami in the fall.
...Henderson is a 6-foot-8, 340-pound left tackle from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, Minn. and had been recruited by just about every major college football program in the country. Immediately, he becomes the prize of a Hurricanes recruiting class that had already been ranked No. 14 by Scout.com and No. 16 by Rivals.com...
He will arrive at Miami on Aug. 3 and is already academically eligible for the upcoming season, Sean Henderson said."

Sigh...

Kurt Coleman does work.

Not to be a mean statement, but former Ohio State safety Kurt Coleman recorded 1 tackle. I'm not really sure whether or not he was in the game the whole time, but for a guy that was looking to make a statement, I would expect to see some decent numbers. Oh well. This was mostly a post for thinking, since that shocks me. Oh, and Tebow still sucks. Night, Go Bucks.

Thoughts during halftime of OSU-BYU game..

OOPS >.<

The following pictures depict Inside The Shoe´s current bowl picking selection. For the rest of the bowls, i will probably talk it over with some of the writers. Pointing to you Yogi. Fortunatly, it´s not over until the fat lady sings, so mabye OSU comes back from being down 23-7 at halftime. Well, if so, that would leave us at 2-2 this bowl season so far. I will update the record as soon as the BYU game comes to a close.
