Saw the game this morning on DVR as I was watching the Bucks play the Vikings last night(no no Pryor did not want to get into a interception throwing competition with Farve ...ooh that was a cheap shot) in our last OOC game before the conference hoops season begins later in the year. Cleveland State didn't look bad - they just forgot that Lighty and Lauderdale are not the most loyal citizens of the state of Cleveland (Doesn't the fact that LeBron come out of Cleveland make them a state in their own right .. come on be honest). The 2 Cleveland natives got us the win though Lighty had an ugly free throw situation ... but we wont talk about that. Back to the Beavers and the Cougars. If you wanted to see 1 play that epitomized the game: it was the refs and the game staff trying to untangle the safety net from behind the goal post. The strong gusts had caused the net to be all wound up with the post. And then u had all kinds of guys trying to get up and cut the net off and that included the BYU mascot!! Right in the middle of things. What was the beaver mascot doing - was 20 yards away having a good time, dancing around ... Sorry if I am trivializing this but not much else is coming to me now. Need to down some more coffee. Another case of a mid-major coming to a bowl game with gr8 execution and a major FBS team coming there in the hopes of their athletes making the plays. Boise-Oklahoma, WVU-Georgia, Utes-Bama... there are tons of examples. Heck I can recall a Buckeye-Airforce bowl game we lost that went along those lines. Ye got to execute. On the bowl game itself, does anyone know 1) Why do all the announcers insist on calling it by its full name: The san diego county .... OK whatever ....
