So now that we are all back on earth after being on cloud 9 yesterday, here are some tidbits about the Rose Bowl that I wanted to mention:
1) Thad Matta should seriously take a look at Jake Ballard for our Basketball team. His one catch in the game came at a critical juncture on a broken down play when he soared into the air and plucked the ball out of the air a foot higher than the defender. A few plays later Posey caught the 17 yard TD for the final nail in the Ducks coffin. Jake - can you help out or basketball team with some rebounding.
2) Coach Tressel has decided to allow our kick coverage team to see our beautiful country by asking them to hike back to Columbus instead of flying back with the rest of the team on the chartered plane. OK - Exaggeration, they traveled with the cargo on the plane. lol. But seriously, we need to look at the breakdown in our kick return coverage. The only success the Ducks had was on kick returns. We made a hero out of Kenjon Barner.
3) Coach Tressel thanks TBDITL - Is that impressive or what. Amidst all the tension, drama, chaos, excitement and emotion, coach Tressel did not forget TBDITL. When Joe Saunders interviewed him prior to handing him the trophy, coach thanked the players, coaches, administratin, fans (go Buckeye Nation!!) and TBDITL. And the band went into a frenzy. In my years in Columbus, the band was one of the great traditions we were a part of in the Block O and thank you coach Tressel for acknowledging and appreciating them.
4) Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musberger - you SUCK. After trash talking the Buckeyes these past years, Brent did a volte face during the telecast after the Posey TD reception when it became obvious that the Buckeyes were going to win. He suddenly remembered how many Buckeyes play in the NFL including Santonio Holmes. You know what guys - you would have at least had some respect with Buckeye fans if you had stuck to your guys about the Buckeyes not being good and all that jazz. We would not have agreed with you but would understand your opinion. But with your volte face last night, you lost the last element of respect with Buckeye fans. And Kirk - you are our alumni. Come on man....
5)Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Jesse Palmer - The Buckeyes had Duck soup and you can have crow tartar yourselves for confidently predicting that the Ducks were going to win. You know as much about football as much Tiger Woods knows about family values.
6) Beanie shared the backfield last year with Pryor and also transferred his patent on the stiff arm to Pryor after he left. Did you guys catch the stiff arm on the safety, how he pancaked a Duck linebacker...oh...priceless.
