Game Preview and Objective Opinions: Ohio

"Just give me the check and I'll be on my way."
Who? Ohio University Bobcats, you know, the guys from Athens. They have townies and everything seems to be up hill.

What? The 3rd step.

When? Saturday September 18th, 12pm.

Where? Ohio Stadium/Big Ten Network/Sharks Cove Hermosa Beach, CA(for me)

Why? MACrifice.

Uggghhhh team we're not gonna talk about what happened last time. Sure we won, but it was way closer than it should have been.... I'll be honest, writing about the OSU vs OU game is kinda blah. Are there even OU fans? I mean, most people that I know that went to OU are OSU fans. Yet the last time we played there were like 3 tools they kept showing on TV cheering for Bob's cats. I just don't feel particularly inspired. I've been to Athens a few times and I'll tell you what I noticed: Lots of hills, Sonic, and lots of townies. That's it.
Fran Solich, formerly of Corn Husker fame, is still at the helm of the mighty Bobcats. After winning a national title in..... ummmm well nm. OK, so they made a bowl game last year and lost to Marshall in said bowl game. Frank Solich used to coach a storied program, now he resides in Athens, Ohio. While Lincoln, NE and Athens, OH probably aren't that much different it's like going from CEO of eBay to wannabe governor of a bankrupt state. Don't worry OU fans and alumnus, I'm done picking on Athens. I'll talk about the two players I know of on OU's football team; Boo Jackson and Julian Posey.

Boo Jackson... where do I start? He seemed to give the Buckeyes fits when they played last. Running all over the place, hair blowing in the wind, making OSU defenders look like OU defenders. I'll just say this: that won't happen this time. Fool us once shame one you, fool us twice shame on us. I'm guessing there will be a heavy dose of Tyler Moeller hitting Boo in the ribs. Bring your flack jacket Boo, it's gonna be a long day.
Now, Julian Posey. Why does that name sound familiar? He's Devier's Brother. Julian plays corner, Devier plays Wide Receiver. Hmmmm, this could be fun. A little sibling rivalry. I asked Devier via twitter how bad he was going to burn his brother, I didn't get anything back. I think what he meant to say was "too often and for too many points to count". Just let me imagine he said that, OK.?

Seriously?
Dear OU: You aren't allowed to use the block O, even with that hideous green.

What do I wan to see on Saturday? Well I'm glad you asked.
  • Boo Jackson getting hit, early and often.
  • Boo Jackson getting minimal to negative gain on scrambles.
  • Man Coverage on the OU receivers. Take-aways, and more pressure on the QB.
  • Tyler Moeller being Tyler Moeller. The STAR will be key to slowing down and stopping Boo Jackson.
  • "Posey Bowl". DP vs JP.
  • Increased completion % from Terrelle. Last week it was a bit low, but I'll chalk that up to playing a quality opponent.
  • Terrelle hitting at least 5 different receivers. We've got the players to do it, spread the ball around.
  • More Stoneburner. Targeted plenty of times last week, but only hit once. There will be plenty of mismatches on the field, but I think these two need to develop a better rhythm.
  • John Simon and Cam eating ribs for dinner. Or lunch since it's a noon game. Whatever.
  • TP goes for 300 through the air.
  • No turnovers.
  • Shutout.
What WILL happen on Saturday?
  • DP wins the Posey Bowl. I'm not sure they're going to be going after each other the entire game, but I think DP has the edge.
  • Stoneburner for 6. It has to happen sooner or later and it lends itself to...
  • TP hitting multiple targets, spreading the ball around and keeping the defense guessing.
  • 200+ Rushing Yards, 500+ yards of total offense.
  • Tyler Moeller will continue to impress. The guy is a scary hitter and serious athlete. I'm glad he's on our side.
  • Ribs for dinner!
  • TP goes for 300 through the air. Coach Daniels said that he wants to keep Terrelle's run plays to a minimum and the next couple of games are the best chance for that to happen.
  • Guitton scores a TD.
  • Wiiiinnnnnnnn
Gee, that got out of hand quickly and so forth. Sorry Frank, here's your check. Have a safe drive back to Athens.
