| Moore will try to lead his team to victory against the Hokies |
The first week of college football ends tomorrow, and we have a jam packed week ahead of us as the Buckeyes get ready to face off against the Hurricanes. Boise State will test their might aganist Virgina Tech, to see if they are a contender or a pretender. The ITS Poll will come out Tuesday. (Hopefully).
Bengals: The Bengals claimed former Central Michigan QB Dan LeFevour off waivers, giving the Bengals a pretty decent back up. The Rookie was let go by the Bears after starting all four preseason games. Scouts report that he does well, just needs to work on the smaller things.
Reds: The Redlegs are on fire, leading the NL Central by 8 games! Yesterday, the Reds beat the Cardinals 6-1 in which Wood was brilliant, allowing 1 run, and hitting one himself. As of right now, the Reds are tied with the Cardinals in today's game 0-0. Earlier in the week Aroldis Chapman got called up, and had a perfect inning in which he threw 3 102 mph fastballs. That's insane.
Cavs: The Cavs lose another player the the Boston Celtics, this time Delonte West.
"Delonte West, traded to Minnesota and then waived by the Timberwolves, has signed with the Boston Celtics, there to join former Cavs' teammate Shaquille O'Neal as the Celtics continue to add pieces to their puzzle on the fly."Buckeyes: The awards for the Marshall game have been selected.
"The Ohio State football coaching staff has selected its weekly award winners for outstanding play in Thursday’s 45-7 season opening victory over Marshall.
Linebacker Brian Rolle, with an interception for a score and four tackles, is the defensive player of the week. Tailback Brandon Saine, who rushed for 103 yards and two scores, is the offensive player of the week. Nate Oliver is the player of the week on the special units.
Mike Brewster was named as the Jim Parker lineman of the week. Cameron Heyward received the Attack Force award on defense. The Jack Tatum big hit of the week went to Tyler Moeller.
Players of the week on the scout teams: Kenny Guiton (offense); Dan Bain (defense); Spencer Smith (special units)."
Inside The Shoe: We have finally added a basketball writer, in Danny. He should have a post up soon introducing himself. On the other side of that, we have also lost a football writer for reasons of his personal life. So, we are looking for a football writer that can be active and take his spot. If you're interested, leave a comment or email us at insidetheshoe2009@hotmail.com.
