On Tuesday night, Ohio State wrapped up a 17-0 start to take the #1 ranking in the nation, thanks to Duke's upset. They beat Michigan 68-64, despite having new head football coach Brady Hoke try and fire up the fans and team. Both teams finished the game at 52 percent from the field, but Ohio State went 17 of 25 on free throws for a huge advantage over Michigan, which was 5 of 7.
- Cameron Newton has declared for the 2011 NFL draft, and will not return for his senior season at Auburn.
"Newton became the school's third Heimsan Trophy winner after leading the Tigers to their first SEC championship since 2004. He rushed for 1,473 yards and 20 touchdowns while passing for 2,854 yards and 30 scores to lead Auburn to its first national championship since 1957.
“This decision was difficult for me and my family,” Newton said. “After talking to Coach Chizik and Coach Malzahn, I think it is best that I make that next step in my career and forgo my senior season and enter the NFL Draft. It was a very hard decision for me, especially after coming off the great season we had at Auburn. I’m blessed to have been around an excellent environment and have great teammates, coaches and support from the Auburn family."
Now he can earn money the right way. Hopefully, for him. Honestly, though, I think he is a better quarterback overall then, say, Tim Teblow Tebow
- The Big Ten officials has announced that the division names, "Leaders and Legends", will not change. For now.
"Although the league will continue to evaluate the names and conduct market research on their sustainability, it never planned to change them before the 2011 season.
"We can't test them until we play a season," Big Ten chief communications officer Diane Dietz told ESPN.com on Thursday. "We can't know until we use them.""
Of course, because of this the interwebs responded with fantastic results, but only with the logo:
These are just some samples of really good work on this site. I still don't have a problem with the logo, and mostly just the division names. Lakes and Plains is what I'm still pulling for.
