The investigation of Pryor off the field is separate from Coach Jim Tressel's resignation, which was announced earlier today. This comes after the announcement that Ohio State no longer has a head coach. It is now assumed that Terrelle Pryor, a former #1 recruit, will not ever see the field in a Buckeye uniform again.
While there will be more on this and the Tressel situation later, I have to point out that when it rains, it pours. Buckeye Nation, we are in for a long and heavy ride.
Meanwhile, a PDF file of the resignation letter of Coach Tressel was posted by The Lantern. Also, many people predict that Ohio State will try and pursue after Urban Meyer to coach the Buckeyes once the 2011-2012 season is over, but that doesn't mean that Meyer wants to at all:
Urban Meyer statement on today’s OSU news: "I am committed to ESPN and will not pursue any coaching opportunities this fall.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the people at ESPN this spring and remain very excited about my role with the network this fall.
Jim Tressel has been a respected friend and colleague for a long time. I wish Jim and his family the very best now and in the future."
More updates as they come.
