From left to right: Andrew Norwell, Jack Mewhort, Mike Brewster, Marcus Hall, and J.B. Shugarts are your starters on the offensive line. Mike Adams also worked in some reps, but with him facing the 5-game suspension, we need Norwell to get his reps in more. Chris Carter was a very nice surprise after he reported in overweight, but yet still raised some eyebrows in camp as he was moving very quickly at the left tackle position. He could add some much needed depth to the offensive line.
As for the defensive line, Nathan Williams, Jonathan Hankins, Garrett Goebel, and of course John Simon. Solomon Thomas had to sit out because he was suspended for the first 5 games as well, and was wearing a yellow jersey. John Simon is a man, and he could be a serious threat along with Hankins and Williams. This defensive line should have no problems whatsoever.
At linebackers, Mike Vrabel's new position as coach, the starters seemed to be Andrew Sweat at WILL linebacker, Storm Klein at MIKE, and Sabino at SAM. We're going to be able to see a lot of Storm Klein this year as the set up is much the same in the 4-2-5 defense, compared to the original 4-3. Tyler Moeller who we interviewed a while back, will be starter at the STAR position, giving him a lot options to go where he needs to be.
Cornerback is another spot that should be interesting to watch this fall as Travis Howard is the only one to have a lock on the position. The other spot will be battled for by Dominic Clarke (who we saw play in the Sugar Bowl), Bradley Robey, and Dionte Allen.
The tight end spot was actually held down by Reid Fragel, who has really made an impression on the coaches, and might be the starter for most of the time. The reason being, with the thin depth at wide receiver, Jake Stoneburner will be featured as a WR in most situations, which will increase the number of balls he gets a game, and really might help spread out opposing defenses.
Wide Receiver had Philly Brown and Verlon Reed as the starters. Verlon Reed is really impressing the coaches and fans alike, and TY Williams and Chris Fields were behind them.
Finally, the QB spot was mostly solid today with all the snaps pretty much evenly divided up. Reps were pretty much split between all four players and went as (Bauserman, Guiton, Graham, Miller). None looked sharp, and seemed to mostly just get the job done, while other points were when Guiton and Graham both threw interceptions that went for touchdowns. That can't happen on the field on game day, and game day is reaching closer, so we'll have to see if they can turn it up a notch in the intensity.
