| What, me worry? |
Joe Bauserman came in to protect a two-touchdown lead, and could not do it. I think his passing chart pretty much sums up the night.
The Ohio State offense ran 59 plays and 20 went for negative or zero yards. 11 of those 20 came when Bauserman was on the field. Bauserman was only on the field for 18 plays. That’s over 60 percent of the plays that Bauserman was on the field for.
Even when the offense went forward with Bauserman on the field, it didn’t go far. The offense only managed 39 yards, just three first downs and ZERO points when he was in. You could almost tell that the game would end badly once Bauserman came in. He does not give fans confidence in him or the team (Thanks to Jeff Amey and theozone.net for their statistical analysis).
Braxton Miller is apparently healthy and walking without any tape on his ankle. He is listed as the starter on the depth chart vs. Illinois. However, Joe Bauserman is still listed as the backup. Even with Bauserman being listed as the backup, I would hope that the coaching staff realizes how bad Bauserman has been and will put Kenny Guiton in the game if something should happen to Miller.
The offense was finally getting some rhythm this past week, and then Joe Bauserman happened. After the debacle he had in Nebraska, I pray, for his sake, he never sees meaningful playing time in Ohio Stadium.
