5. Kellen Moore, Quarterback, Boise State, Previous Rank (On ITS): #3 - Kellen Moore and his squad have done just as well these past couple of weeks as they did against Georgia (whose stock continues to rise after a 3 game-win streak). Unfortunately, the Broncos face only 1 last test, and even then, the TCU Horned Frogs aren't going to provide much strength of schedule the way they've been playing. If the Bronco's want another chance at a title, they have to win out, and win out in the most impressive fashion. Moore just needs to do what he does best. This season he is 125/169 (73% pass completion percentage) for 1,391 yards and 17 touchdowns. Don't think for a second this is just another gun-it-down-field type of offense. No, Doug Martin, the Bronco's lead back has 422 yards.
4. Trent Richardson, Running Back, Alabama, Previous Rank (On ITS): #4 - Trent Richardson is having another monster season, but still not able to pull off a "landslide" of voters. This could be because of all the other stars, but Richardson himself is on an undefeated squad that is without a doubt one of the best teams in the country. With an impressive 729 yards on 115 carries this season, one of the only questions that remain to see if Richardson is the real deal is how he does against the best teams, and defenses, in the country. Can he gash LSU like he has against other teams? Only time will tell, but if he does you can bet that Richardson will be among the top players considered by season's end.
3. Denard Robinson, Quarterback, Michigan, Previous Rank (On ITS): Not Ranked - The newcomer to the list comes in dreads and untied shoes. Denard Robinson, Mr. September Heisman himself graces his presence on the Top 5 players in the country. While his passing statistics aren't eye-popping (67/17 1130 yards, 10 touchdowns to 9 INT's), the rushing yardage, plus the X-factor that he means to his squad are just downright ridiculous. He has 720 rushing yards, which is 9 less than Trent Richardson. All he has to do is keep willing Michigan to win, and stay healthy, and he'll still be in contention come November/December.
2. Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Wisconsin, Previous Rank (On ITS): Not Ranked - The transfer from N.C. State is the real deal, throwing 83/111 (73% completion percentage) for 1391 yards, and 13 touchdowns. Add to the fact that he's only thrown 1 interception all year, and has ran for 140 yards (which might not seem like much, but he's a situation-type runner) and he has the Badgers in the Top 5 nationally, propels this QB up to the #2 spot, and is gunning for that #1 spot. With a couple of big wins he could have that spot, as he has played mighty impressive.
1. Andrew Luck, Quarterback, Stanford, Previous Rank (On ITS): #1 - The top 3 passing quarterbacks in the nation (Luck, Wilson, and Moore) have all similar stats. Andrew Luck has led his team to an undefeated record in the Pac-12 thus far, going 106/145 (73% completion percentage) for 1383 and 14 touchdowns to 2 interceptions. They've been able to roll over cupcake teams so far, but if Luck, and the Cardinal for that matter, want to stay on top of the polls, they need to have signature wins over big teams like Oregon and Notre Dame.
