Good morning, Buckeye fans! It’s Wednesday. This is a good thing. It means the week is almost half over, and, of course, the basketball Buckeyes take the court again tonight, taking on Penn State in Columbus.
Mike Adams Impresses at Senior Bowl. Mike Adams was one of the top prospects at offensive tackle for the upcoming NFL Draft before Senior Bowl practices started, but it seems that he is doing even more to help his cause. The 6-foot-8-inch Adams has the height to be a successful left tackle in the NFL, but scouts would like to see him add a few pounds to his frame. There is a good chance he will be a first-round pick in April.
A Legend is Laid to Rest. Sadly, Joe Paterno died this past Sunday after a battle with lung cancer. Public viewings were yesterday and today, with a private funeral to take place today. Paterno has the most wins in college football history with 409 over 46 seasons at the helm of the Nittany Lions.
Buckeye Basketball Star Named B1G POTW. While it is the men’s Buckeye basketball team that gets most of the press, the women’s team has been playing extremely well, improving their record to 19-1 over the weekend. Samantha Prahalis was named player of the week after avering 23.5 points, 7.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2 steals in wins over Nebraska and Illinois. Ohio State is up to No. 9 in the polls.
