I have a hard time believing that it's already Week 7 of the 2011 season. With many more games to be played, though, the season is still going strong. Add to the fact that the Big 10 and Pac 12 have conference championship games, and that just adds another week to the great games to watch. Of course, with every big game, there are big names and stars. Those stars compete all season long to try and win the Heisman trophy every year. This year there is no household name like Cam Newton, or Troy Smith. It's anyone's game, and here are the standings right now, per

5. Kellen Moore, Quarterback, Boise State, Previous Rank (On ITS): #3 - Kellen Moore and his squad have done just as well these past couple of weeks as they did against Georgia (whose stock continues to rise after a 3 game-win streak). Unfortunately, the Broncos face only 1 last test, and even then, the TCU Horned Frogs aren't going to provide much strength of schedule the way they've been playing. If the Bronco's want another chance at a title, they have to win out, and win out in the most impressive fashion. Moore just needs to do what he does best. This season he is 125/169 (73% pass completion percentage) for 1,391 yards and 17 touchdowns. Don't think for a second this is just another gun-it-down-field type of offense. No, Doug Martin, the Bronco's lead back has 422 yards.
4. Trent Richardson, Running Back, Alabama, Previous Rank (On ITS): #4 - Trent Richardson is having another monster season, but still not able to pull off a "landslide" of voters. This could be because of all the other stars, but Richardson himself is on an undefeated squad that is without a doubt one of the best teams in the country. With an impressive 729 yards on 115 carries this season, one of the only questions that remain to see if Richardson is the real deal is how he does against the best teams, and defenses, in the country. Can he gash LSU like he has against other teams? Only time will tell, but if he does you can bet that Richardson will be among the top players considered by season's end.
