Tuesday's Buckeye Bits

Good morning Buckeye fans. Welcome to your Tuesday morning Buckeye Bits. If your new to this daily feature we here at ITS attempt to scour the web for interesting stories for you to read. Think of it as a quicker way to get your sporting fix before the boss makes his/her morning rounds.

The basketball Bucks are a #2 seed this year and open up play this Thursday. We have some great writers that will have tons of info on the upcoming game and tournament as it approaches. With that said, I thought it would be nice to keep it on the football side of things today. Off we go!

Butch Davis Leaves His Mark- Well, it's probably not his fault entirely as Butch hasn't been linked to any of the problems at North Carolina but as a Browns fan I don't miss an opportunity to slander his name. I found it extra hilarious that this story was buried down the page on ESPN. Where is all the outrage that was expressed during Tatgate? How much do you want to bet this story doesn't come up until half way through Sportscenter? Ahh, got to love that bias.

TCU Wants To Join The Party Too!- Not to be outdone by their counterparts to the Northeast, TCU finds itself in hot water with the NCAA as well. The first of four players accused of selling weed on campus has been formally charged. The situation looks to only go downhill as the investigation continues.

My favorite part about this tid bit is the accusation that as many as 82 people involved with the team failed a drug test. 82! How many are on a normal staff including the players? 110? 120? That is a staggering number. I'm sure we won't get the hate and vitriol from ESPN with this story either. Oh well. Haters gonna hate.

Breaking: ESPN Comes Up With Good Idea!- I always bitch and moan about the four-letter network but as you can see, most of my stuff comes from their page today. Whatever. This is my column and I can waver as much as I want! Anyway, the Big Ten blog came up with a pretty cool idea of pairing classic team from the Big Ten over the past decade. In the first installment, you can choose between the '02 and '07 Buckeyes. I don't know who to pick here.

The '02 squad had a TON of NFL talent but struggled to win games during their impossible run to the title. The '06 team blew people out and was #1 wire to wire until they ran into the banquet circuit... I mean Florida in the title game. Tough decision. What do you think?

Urban runs things a little differently- This was a cool article that gives you a look at how Meyer views his current players. The days of Tressel and the buddy system are long gone my friends. Meyer doesn't care what you did in the past or how high players think of themselves. Guys are going to EARN his trust. I can't wait for football. /Looks at calendar and cries

Gag Reflex- I came across this little nugget while trolling Wisconsin sites. I read this thing and puked a little in my mouth after the first paragraph. Then I managed to finish and the rest of my lunch followed. We all know my thoughts on Bielema (which most Buckeye fans probably agree with). Since we are trying to keep ITS a reputable site, I won't give you my true feelings on this hilarious article.

HOWEVA, you the commenter aren't restrained like yours truly. I would love to read your thoughts in the comment sections below. I'll be waiting! That's it for today people. Keep it locked to ITS for all the excitement of this weeks basketball games
