Final Recap: Recruiting 2010 Part 2 of 2.

Christian Bryant - CB - 5'11''/178 - LOI - Ohio State - ITS said Ohio State
The corner from the Glenville pipeline was a big addition to the class of 2010, and adds a very good defensive player for the Buckeyes. Bryant is an aggressive player, who likes to make big plays at key moments. Bryant is also very good at jumping routes, and it seems his only weakness is that he is a bit to short. His instincts are amazing, and he really does belong on this outstanding defense. The coaches will show him the ropes, and if he succeeds, he can do a good job. Grade: B+

Matt James - OL - 6'7''/260 - LOI - Notre Dame - ITS said Ohio State
Matt James was sort of under the radar for scouts at Ohio State, but I never thought we would lose him, especially to Notre Dame. It could have something to do with that being his last official visit to a school, but either way, this came as a shock to me. This year in Ohio brought some pretty good linemen, and James was one of them. If it hadn't been for Henderson, this would have been tOSU's number one linemen choice. He also does a great job drive blocking and in pass protection against a high level of competition. While he’s got good moves, Ohio State probably was worried about his flexibility. Regardless, I think this one should have been a Buckeye, no doubt. Grade: C-

Latwan Anderson - DB - 5'10''/185 - LOI - None - ITS said West Virginia 
Anderson is an outstanding athlete that plays with great aggression. He is outstanding in coverage and is very good at supporting the run. Anderson has very good ball skills and can fly around the field to help his teammates. Sometimes he will get overly aggressive at times, but mostly, he is similar to Jermale Hines when it comes to playing on defense. Anderson verbally committed to West Virginia, like we thought he would, but he never signed his LOI, maybe hoping for a late Ohio State offer? Then Tressel simply came out and said that they would not be pursuing Anderson any longer. So my guess is that he is waiting to see if someone else wants him, which is surprising. Grade: C

Overall
Overall, Ohio State's recruiting class has been mediocre this year, and it came as a shock. 2011 is really looking awesome right now though, especially if we end up with Quarterback Braxton Miller. Eleven Warriors put it best, saying that he was Terrelle Pryor 2.0. Right now, were about 6-8 weeks from hearing what Seantrel Henderson will decide to do, but until then, the class has mostly been a disappointment. Do remember, though, that gems have been found in the rough with classes such as this before. So with that we give the 2010 recruiting class: Final Grade: C+

Seantrel Henderson chooses USC..

Well, after the hour of panic, Henderson decided to attend the USC school out west. It's hard to turn down an offer from a school that has sky rocketed players into the first round of the NFL. Especially linemen. If you look at tOSU's track record on linemen to the NFL, you see this:

Not excatly what you want as a coach recruiting smart linemen. Ohio State still got a stable of running backs with this class which includes Rod Smith (this year) Carlos Hyde (last year) Jaamal Berry (Our favorite-last year) Jordan Hall (last year) Boom Herron and Zoom Saine. We also have Terrelle Pryor at QB, something that was a big deal two years ago, when HE was the number 1 recruit. All in all, Buckeye fans shouldn't fret TOO much, although we did manage to lose Floyd, Henderson, Anderson (Still decieding, although a verbal to WVU), Mount Moses, James, Hicks, Joyner, and Shaw. Don't forget, next year is shaping up to be a top 5 recruiting class, and hey, we basically have the same team as the Rose Bowl and we should be able to move on to the MNC. So let's keep rolling along Buckeye Fans. We got this.

Signing Day Predictions

Who will be the Next Ohio State Buckeye?

One day until National Signing day, and I think it's going to be a good one. We Buckeye fans should be excited, as well as hopeful. Matt James and Seantrel Henderson is whom we have focused on here, but there are plenty other great recruits that are looking to become Buckeyes as well. Inside The Shoe will recap the days events, and also tell you who we got, as well as who got away from us. Below shows my predictions of who the Buckeyes will end up with out of the 2 biggest names. No homerisim involved. I do wish you all Happy Signing Day Eve.

Seantrel Henderson

You've heard about him frequently, as well as seen some video on here and youtube. You've heard he's the next Orlando Pace. You've heard he will start as a true freshman wherever he ends up. What you haven't heard is where he WILL end up. It seems, in most experts eyes, that it is down to three, but Henderson pleads it's all 6. I say it's four. The 3 are unanimous. Ohio State, USC, and Notre Dame. Most people forget to mention the fact that he WAITED for the Miami Hurricanes to send him an offer. That's why there is four. If he was waiting for Miami to send him an offer, I would think that would be in my top 3. So, with Notre Dame and USC going under coaching changes, who has the edge? Ohio State? What happens if the coaching changes doesn't really effect Henderson? Oh, wait. That already happend. It seems to me it's going to come right down to the last hour for him to decide. Then again mabye he already has, but I'm here to tell you where I think he did already.

Matt James

Matt James has received much less hype than Seantrel, but has still received some love from tBBC, and 11W. We recently started posting about him, so theres not to much to tell. He is an amazing talent, who could start his sopohmore year, and is a great pass blocker.

Pitt is doubtful

It has been almost confirmed that the University of Pitt will, in fact, NOT be joining the Big Ten. At least, not yet. The Big Ten commitee shot down the rumors of Pitt joining by announcing that they are standing by their 12-18 month plan to sit around and relax, while college football fans are running around screaming names such as "Missouri! Notre Dame!! Cincy! Pitt!". I am really not to surprised, but have to say, dissapointed. I would have loved to see a quick, painless move for a team to join us. After all, what college football, or in this case, Big Ten fan wouldn't? Can it even be that simple? No, to put it simply. It can't. So, we will have to wait and see what will happen next. Expect to see some more rumors floating around, like the Big Ten is slow, or something. Meanwhile, 2 days away from the announcement of Ohio State recruits Seantrel Henderson, Matt James, and many more. Keep it here for more news.
